Welcome To My Kitchen

Everybody's got a favorite spot,
and  this one is mine.
Come on in and let me show you around.

If you watch HGTV you might think
you can't afford to do this,
but with a simple plan and rough lumber
it doesn't have to cost an arm & a leg.
We love our backyard space.

Here is our outdoor dining area.
We went for a sort of  a Tex Mex theme for the
dining room and kitchen.
Note the chalk board menu.

Here is the bar and saloon doors we built that separate the kitchen and dining area.

The wooden box is actually an ice chest.

Now let's check out the kitchen.

Here are my two pellet grills.

 The cold water sink.

Here is the Big Green Egg charcoal grill.

 Double propane burners.
Some HOT..HOT chilli has been cooked on these as well as wok cooking etc.

I told you it was Tex Mex.  Cool huh?

I wish you could sit down and stay a while.
I'd fire up a grill and start cookin!

Thanks for checking out my blog.

I would love to hear your comments
and if you're in the neighborhood stop by for some good food.

Steve (and Connie)

  1. I love that chalkboard menu. My hubby would think he had died and gone to heaven if he had all that nice outdoor grill space! Very nice.

  2. Cool is right. My goodness you must love enjoying that space with family and friends as I sure would.

You sure have the gear for cooking some great food. I see those burners for sale at one of our big box places ..the two you have on the raised grated table.. I never thought to arrange them as you have. Inspiring...and a lovely area made by you for your family. Just a treat. Thank you for sharing this.

  6. Hi Steve, I am a blogging friend of Connie's and she put your link in her latest post. I am amazed that you built all this! What a wonderful gathering spot for your friends and family. Unfortunately, my husband is not a handy guy, so something like this is only in my dreams. If you lived closer to us, I'd hire you. :-)

    1. Hi Melanie, so nice to hear from you and thank you for stopping by my blog. We do really enjoy ourselves in our back yard. I was never a handy guy when I was younger because I didn't have the patience to do things right. That all changed a few years back when I decided to build a boat. It turned out nice and gave me the confidence to try anything. See the boat on my blog if you care to. Thanks again.

      Steve.
